GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL
WHY GOSH
The Children’s Cancer Centre:
Childhood and cancer are two words that should never belong together. Every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That means five families receive the most devastating news imaginable.
Cancer does not have to claim a child’s life to take so much from them. It can steal away their childhood, their opportunities to learn, and play with friends.
This is why we are fundraising to help build a new, world-leading Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The centre will be a place where children have access to play and education alongside pioneering treatments. Families will be able to stay together through some of their hardest moments. There will be a priority on access to outdoor space, and a focus on nutrition to help fuel recovery.
The new cancer centre will be a beacon of innovation and hope. It’s state-of-the-art facilities will provide a space where new discoveries and life-saving breakthroughs. The aim is to give more children the chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to improve the odds for children with cancer, now and for generations to come.
The Endurance Limits Andes to Amazon challenge proudly supports the "Build it. Beat it." appeal, helping to create the Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more young lives.
Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
