WHY GOSH

About Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

GOSH Charity is dedicated to helping seriously ill children experience fuller, happier, and longer childhoods. Every day, children from across the UK receive care at Great Ormond Street Hospital, many of whom face rare or complex illnesses. The charity’s work benefits not only this generation, but those yet to come.

Since opening its doors in 1852, Great Ormond Street Hospital has transformed the lives of countless children and has always relied on charitable support. GOSH Charity funds groundbreaking research into children’s health, state-of-the-art medical equipment, child focused facilities, and essential support services for families navigating the most difficult times.

There remains much more to be done. With the support of teams like Endurance Limits, we can give seriously ill children the best possible chance and the childhoods they deserve. No childhood should be lost to serious illness.

Donations to the Endurance Limits Team’s Challenges will directly support vital cancer care services at GOSH. Your donation to Andes to Amazon project will contribute towards helping to build the new children’s cancer centre, upgrade equipment, advance pioneering research, develop kinder treatments, and provide crucial welfare services for patients and their families.

If costs change, if additional funds are received beyond Endurance Limits target, or if the needs of the hospital or its patients evolve, GOSH Charity reserves the right to use donations where they are needed most.

The Children’s Cancer Centre

Childhood and cancer are two words that should never belong together. Every week, around five children in the UK lose their lives to cancer. That means five families receive the most devastating news imaginable.

Cancer does not have to claim a child’s life to take so much from them. It can steal away their childhood, their opportunities to learn, and play with friends. This is why we are fundraising to help build a new, world-leading Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The centre will be a place where children have access to play and education alongside pioneering treatments. Families will be able to stay together through some of their hardest moments.

The Endurance Limits Andes to Amazon challenge proudly supports the "Build it. Beat it." appeal, helping to create the Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more young lives. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
